Starry Across the Years

This is a comparison of all of the iterations of Ruby Star Society's Starry collections. This print was originally designed in 2016 by Alexia Marcelle Abegg before the formation of Ruby Star Society. The first full collection was released in November 2021.

This version was printed on a natural, unbleached cotton substrate that contained small black flecks. This distinguishes it from more recently printed Starry fabrics.

Next, Starry was re-released in 2023 with some repeat colors and some new ones and became a re-orderable basic line from Ruby Star Society.

Most recently, the third release was in 2025 including more new colors as well as continued production of the previous release.

Notably, the 2025 release included a white on natural colorway with bright white on a creamy natural background. In addition, there were also mini and regular sized charm packs of this colorway only, in addition to charm packs with the full spectrum of colors.

Do you have a favorite Starry release? This print is definitely a customer favorite in all of its versions and I'm so glad it's become a basic that can be reordered over and over again!

One of my very favorite Starry projects was my Courgette Quilt sample I made when my friend Amber of Alderwood Studio and I wrote this pattern together. The colors used for this version were Rosebud, Warm Peach, and Papaya. You can find the PDF version of the pattern in my shop HERE and the Starry collection HERE. Happy Starry sewing!
